Acceptable Use Policy
Version acceptable-use-1.0.0 · in force from 18 September 2026
Course++ — a product of CoursePlusPlus LLC
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It sets out what you may not do with Course++. We have kept it short and specific, because a rule nobody can find is a rule nobody follows.
01
Don't put student data into it
Course++ cannot read student records from Canvas — that is enforced in the software. But you can hand it things directly, and we are asking you not to.
Do not attach, paste or type:
- Student work — essays, submissions, discussion replies
- Gradebook exports, or screenshots of grades
- Class rosters, student email addresses or ID numbers
- Anything from your Canvas inbox — accommodation requests, conduct or Title IX correspondence, counselling messages
Whatever you give Course++ goes to an AI model. The protections built into the tool cannot inspect a file you hand it.
02
Don't abuse the account or the billing
- One account per person
- Don't share your login, or resell access
- Don't create extra accounts to collect more than one free trial
- Don't run Course++ with scripts or automation
- Don't modify the extension to get around usage limits or metering
03
Don't use it against the rules that already apply to you
- Follow your institution's policies, including any about AI tools
- Follow Canvas's terms
- Only give Course++ material you have the right to use
- Follow your institution's grade-change procedures. Course++ can help you fix a broken quiz question; it does not excuse you from however your school requires changes to be recorded
04
Don't use it for these
- Anything illegal
- Harassing, threatening or defaming anyone
- Deliberately generating content designed to deceive or harm
- Attempting to break, overload or probe our systems
- Attempting to extract our system prompts or work around the tool's safety limits
05
What happens if you do
We may suspend your account while we look into it, and terminate it if the breach is real. If we terminate for any reason other than your breach of these rules, we refund your unused credits.
We will tell you which rule was involved.
06
